Cal Learn

The Health Division at Community Resource Project, Inc. houses a variety of programs intended to provide additional health-related services to the families we serve.

The Cal Learn Program is designed to provide counseling and supportive services to pregnant and parenting teens.  The purpose of the program is to support the teens as they complete high school. The program provides case management until the client obtains a high school diploma.

The program is designed to assist the young people with guidance and life counseling. Counselors monitor school progress and assist with ancillary needs including health care, family planning, nutrition, education, transportation, housing and other services.

Experienced case managers are available at most of our locations throughout Sacramento County and provide services in many languages.

What is Cal Learn?

The Cal Learn program under Community Resource Project, Inc. is a statewide program to help pregnant and parenting teens who are receiving CalWORKs/TANF complete high school, become independent and form healthy families.

Getting your diploma
Once in Cal-Learn you will be assigned your own case manager who will help you develop a plan to finish high school or earn a GED. If you are not currently attending school, your case manager will assist you in getting back into school or find the right school to meet your needs.

Earn a cash bonus
Cal-Learn rewards good school performance and penalizes poor school performance.

  • Do well and earn a bonus (Because this is a Mandatory program, you must be enrolled in school and making progress)
  • Do poorly and receive a penalty
